As you all know, Halleys of Dorking which was run by David Halley and supplied Land Rover parts to most of Surrey’s Land Rover fraternity closed down a while ago .

The good news is that his business and stock has been bought and is now trading as Halleys of Surrey.

Halleys of Surrey are now located at RedHill Aerodrome and run by Ian Etherton. Ian is passionate about Land Rovers and is putting everything into the business and needs your support. Please give him a ring on 01737 821272 and see what he can do for you. He can have parts couriered out to you next day and has recently started doing mail order.

Radiator Bottom Hose Part Number: ESR536

My radiator bottom hose (ESR536)  had a split in it that was threatening to go right through and I wasn’t too happy with the duck tape wrapped round it so as soon as the replacement part arrived from LRSeries.com I fitted it.

Obviously I didn’t go for the genuine Land Rover part as it was £54.11 compared to £7.85 but I did notice that the walls of the hose were a lot thinner than the part on the landy so maybe it is worth going for original? Has anyone else noticed replacement hose splitting before genuine?

This was its first year and it looks promising. The off-road course looked excellent, there were a good number of trade stands including some of the big names and lots of auto jumble.

Quite a few clubs had exhibts there as well and there was plenty to see.

I must admit that as with most UK law, it is a minefield out there and you would have to be a lawyer to fully understand the rules. Add to this the UK Police force who seem to be able to make up the rules to suit themselves and you have a situation where even the good honest UK driver can fall foul and end up with points on their licence.
